Other highlights included a pleasingly well-attended talk by crime writer, Karen Campbell, at Balloch Library, a fascinating and moving evening with Andrew Greig at Dumbarton Library, and a highly entertaining show with Liz Lochhead and Carol Laula, again at Balloch.
The event that probably attracted most interest was a talk on shipbuilding at Clydebank College, on the very site where the great Cunarders were launched from John Brown’s Shipyard. Ian Johnston and Tom McKendrick provided an evening that contained a huge amount of laughter, and we could have filled the venue three times over such was the demand.
With regular favourites, The 2 Steves, in addition to James Robertson, Maggi Gibson and others, the children’s section of the programme played its part in making ‘Booked!’ 2010 an outstanding success.
